I made my first video tutorial with Livestream today.
(My other livestream sessions were just me working, not me really doing much in the way of explaining how to do things.) It's a 20 minute tutorial on ways to clean up your scanned pencil drawings, color with them, or ink on top of them. Photoshop vets probably won't find anything new here, but new users to the program will likely find the entire thing worth watching. If you use photoshop moderately there's still probably a gem or two in here, but most of it will be redundant.
The thing is, I half wonder if my time wouldnt' have been better spent simply making a non-video tutorial of the same material. This was a fun experiment though. If I were to do this again, I would likely do an edited w voiceover + text non livestream video. That way I could use time lapses and have things be a bit clearer, as well as have the ability to host it on my own site without ads.
The things that it will go over will be:Using levels to clean up paper texture, grey areas, and darkening your pencils.
Using the clone stamp tool to remove blemishes and flecks of dust.
Coloring over your pencils
Using layer modes to color under your pencils
Using variations and layer opacity to make inking your drawing easier.
