Okay, I haven't read all the suggestions, but I'd like to give some too.
The
A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin is pretty bloody awsum. A historical fantasy in a medieval setting with vivid characters and
realistic conflict and consequenses - I could praise it for hours, but I'm not very good to get my point through when I'm writing English, but it's full of unexpected plot twists and it's a wonderful page-turner. Go read it if you love fantasy
The
Discworld series by Terry Pratchett also deserves to be mentioned - it's a humorous fantasy series that beats all clichés to death with a scythe and a hammer in a hilarously entertaining way. I've become Discworld-addicted - I've read seventeen books of that series, and I still thirst for more
I suck at recommending in English xD Well, they're both two wonderful series, so you should really check them out!
Ah, and
The Halfblood Chronicles by Mercedes Lackey and Andre Norton is also quite cool. It's got some clichés like the Chosen One and such, but the twist on the elves is certainly wonderful. The first book,
The Elvenbane, is the best of the lot, and now Norton's dead, so we can only wonder when the final book will come
Yeah, that's it from me.

You could read the Shamer's chronicles. 4 books. I liked them. I bet you never heard of those.
Yes I have! And I've read them too :3 It's a Danish series by Lene Kaaberbøl, but she translated them to English herself (and that's impressive!). I've read the Norwegian translations, and that's a series I enjoy!
