Ah yes, the Night Angel trilogy is awesome. But, it isn't really appropriate for younger people.

agreed.

I loved these books, even though the plot twist infuriated me. but all in all, amazing. Live like Magnus Bane: When in doubt, cover it in glitter!

Next Beka Cooper "Bloodhound" is due sometime this week, I believe. (is HUGE Tamora Pierce fan)

*cracks knuckles* Okay, let's see if I can't get at least a few new books added to your list...

(***= personal favorites)

Christopher Pike, Alosha series (3 books, 4th to be written after Pike finishes writing the screenplay for Alosha)
Mary Hoffman, Stravaganza: City of Stars (2 or 3 in series right now, have no idea if more are to come)
Diane Duane, So You Want to Be a Wizard series (not sure, but around 8-9 books last I checked)
Garth Nix, Keys to the Kingdom (Last I checked, six books, believed to be 7 as final total)
***Jonathan Stroud, The Bartimaeus Trilogy
***James A. Owens, The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica (3 thus far)
Chris Riddell/Paul Stewart, The Edge Chronicles (I forget how many... 7? 8? More?)
Cornelia Funke, The Thief Lord
Jane Yolen, Dragon's Blood, Heart's Blood, A Sending of Dragons (This really needs a "series" title... no word on the fourth book, yet)
Vivian Vande Velde, Now You See It...
***Alison Croggon, The Books of Pellinor (4 books in total)
Jeanne DuPrau, The City of Ember (4 books total)
***Diana Wynne Jones, The Chronicles of Chrestomanci (4 books sold in two volumes)
Herbie Brennan, Faerie Wars (3 books in total)
Dave Barry/Ridley Pearson, Peter and the Starcatchers (3 books in total with a spin-off mini series)
Stephen R. Lawhead, Hood (2 books in series that I've heard of)
***L.A. Meyer, Bloody Jack (7 or 8 books out now, not sure of how many more)

I used to work in the Children's/Young Adults section of Borders, so my tastes are typically drawn from there (and it also meant I never made a penny- all my paychecks went straight back into buying books. XD)

Help yourself. :-)

If you've ever heard of the tale of Robin Hood and his band of "robbers," then you should like this book: Hood by Stephen R. Lawhead. It's a really great book, but it's around...400 pages long? It's a long book for people who "don't love books," or don't like "long" ones. Here...

(*-great books & personal favorites)
(**-not suggested for male readers...may not exactly catch your eye... :-' )

Quote:
Stephen R. Lawhead
*Hood, & Scarlet (There's a fourth book that's released, but I can't seem to recall the name. His website: http://www.stephenlawhead.com)
*In the Hall of the Dragon King, The Warlords of Nin, & The Sword of the Flame (No fourth book...at least, haven't heard of one yet. Series: The Dragon King Trilogy)
*The Paradise War[i], [i]The Silver Hand, & The Endless Knot (Another three-part book series that I don't think there's a fourth book to. Series: Song of Albion)
Anna Godbersen
**The Luxe, Rumors, Envy, and Spendlor ("Spendlor" is underlined because it hasn't yet been released. This is a four book series, no fifth. Series: The Luxe)
Sarah Dessen
*Just Listen (LOVED IT! It was a great book, but I suggest it for only young adults, or adults. Unfortunately, there is some swearing, and suggestive content (sound like a movie rating :-/)
Libba Bray
**A Great and Terrible Beauty[i], [i]Rebel Angels, & The Sweet Far Thing (Greatly written. For those of you who can't stand to read books without cell-phones and TVs, don't buy it. It takes place back in...I think, the late 1700's or early 1800's to late times. It's almost 200 years ago (the time frame). You've "been warned." Series: The Gemma Doyle Trilogy)
Cornelia Funke
*Inkheart, Inkspell, & Inkdeath (Good books. Uhm...not much I can say...I never finished "Inkdeath," to be honest, but it was still good. :) Series: The Inkheart Trilogy)

:) That's it!

Edge Chronicles is about the Edge which is "an edge" land that stretches over nothingness.. They have flying rocks =D. Except that in the last of the books when rock disease came. Chrestomanci is about bootlegged multilived wizards :weird:

Ahhh~! There's Tamora Pierce fans!!!
I agree with them, she is an excellent writer.

I think we forgot C.S Lewis, which is sort of sad. Chronicles of Narnia rock!

For Sci-Fi, I recommend Robert A. Heinlein. A few books by him
Podkayne of Mars
Moon is a Harsh Mistress

Piers Anthony. He's a very good author. If you're gonna read his books, read A Spell for Chameleon first. It's the first of the Xanth series.

Terry Brooks. <-- He's cool :D

There's others too... Just can't think of em right now. :why:
