NDA Art Critique Message Boards

Going to start this before it takes over the introductions thread. O.o

Anyway; How many of you were here long, long ago when we had puppets and RP sections to the forum?
Miss anything from the good old days?
Miss anyone who has dissapered from the interweb map?

I remember many people; TheShadowDragon (Shade), Vampiress, Redfeathers, Ashiragirl, Varion_Redwing...to name a few.
I really only miss the interaction, there seems to be a lack of people active now...It is saddening to see how something so big in my life (at one point; I was online everyday) look so dead...

I'm not an 'old' person. But Vampiress I think still frequents the forums every once in a while. I think the RPGs would definately get a few more people on more, maybe daily.

I was here around that time too. I remember I was here for a theme change, actually - they went from black and bright white to a more bluish black and a cyan glow. It's different now too.

It was also home to the first and last RP I ever participated in. It was run by Ashiragirl, and all I remember of it now was that it involved "the three Kranz".

I remember making a variety of those puppet things because I liked them and thought they were a unique sort of themed avatar for a community to have. Though I was here even before NDA was using phpBB as its forum...! I first joined this site probably in 2003 and ended up getting a lot of helpful critique on my old art. I've probably come and gone throughout the years and seem to remember the site being more active than it is currently, which is too bad, since this has been such a great place for me to get feedback on my fantasy art.

My activity these days is probably sort of restricted to giving comments and critique and stuff instead of showing off my own artwork, but I do enjoy helping people where I can and giving redlines and stuff. I haven't really been very active recently though since I was sort of busy being in another continent for the last several weeks. xD

It would be nice if something could be done to improve the activity levels here, though it will probably always be a bit of a struggle as long as registration is disabled to prevent bots from joining, which is too bad.

I was just browsing the forum and I found the 'farewell' thread; I was shocked to see just how many people left, many were old timers.
I suppose, nothing lasts forever.

I was there at the tail end of the puppet era. Just recently realized that the forum is somewhat alive again, and now I am happyface =)

I think i joined at the end of the 'Puppets era' as well and i wondered why that changed for quite some time. Though I have never been particularly active on that note so it doesn't really make a difference to me.
After a while I actually began to worry about Vampiress cause she hadnt replied to my messages. I had actually gotten adicted to some of her work on the site for a good while.

Yeah, I remember those puppets, too. I think they were partly a reason why I ever joined this site, other than being awed by all the art here. I got my own art improved a bit, too. At some point I totally forgot that this place even existed. But now it has crawled up in my memories and I am lurking here again. I hope to get back to drawing again one day, too. This place is still nice, even if it is not as active as it used to be ages ago... :3

Decided to visit the boards for some nostalgia time, saw this topic and felt like it would be a good place to pop in to. ; ) Sorry if I'm necro'ing 8D;

Good to see the boards aren't completely dead <33 The bot invasion and how it was dealt with hit the boards pretty hard from what I can remember. I think I recall that Neon stopped the puppets since she had to keep on resizing and uploading 'em, and she wouldn't always have the time to do so. That or she wanted a more uniform avatar style for everyone. o3o

We had a Games section as well as all the RP boards, but they ended up being more popular then what the boards were originally intended for; Art related discussions. So the boards were narrowed down to avoid us straying too much from that. c:

I definitely don't miss the old board colour scheme and style, this version is a lot better. xD

If you don't mind my asking you beenz, what is actually going on with the user registration. The site i think gets more visits from guests than anyone else.
