Disney is coming out with an oldschool animated movie soon! Called the Princess and the frog, Disney's first african american princess too. Gotta love Disney.. I couldn't pick a genre..cause I love pretty much anything, and I'll watch practically anything. Uh.. Oh also I wanna see Coraline, but it's gonna be a bit different from Nightmare Before Christmas because Tim Burton actually had nothing to do with it. Just sort of his style though. Gawd I need to go out and watch some movies, it's been a long time.

Yeah they're making it and she's black... but it took how long for them to finally choose to do that with a heroine? Not to mention they had to do rewrites because she was 'too stereo-typically black'. >_>; And if you see the trailer she gets turned into a frog, so who knows how long she's actually be black rather than, y'know, green. Bad racist Disney, bad.

Anyway. I saw Pixar's UP lately and that was very good. They're really evolving with their character backgrounds and comedy. I mean, the first ten minutes of the movie are wickedly tragic. :why: <3

According to the magical Netflix preference maker I like... Suspensful Action and Adventure, BBC Space-Travel Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Foreign Horror, Violent Foreign Action and Adventure, Suspenseful Sci-Fi & Fantasy for ages 11 to 12, Witty Showbiz Comedies and Feel-good Children & Family Movies. Lawl. I guess that's correct...? XD Except the BBC is just because I watched all of Doctor Who within, like, a week. :-/

I'll watch just about anything though and have been known to watch very pointless movies (Surfer, Dude for example) just because I don't want to find my remote or set my Xbox back to the main menu...

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm desperate for a new good flick. I've been on a Stephen Chow and Kevin Smith kick lately. :j

I don't think Disney's being racist, actually. They just based a lot of their stories on European tales, particularly English. So they're gonna have white princesses. -psst Pocahontas?-

What about Jasmine? She's not white.

Has anyone ever seen Cinderella 3 "A Twist in Time" ? It's basically a retelling of the original movie, except that the wicked step-mother steals the fairy-godmother's wand and messes everything up. It's awesome though because Cinderella goes from " sterotypical princess" to an action heroine. And the prince is given a bigger role than in the original, turns out he's a pretty awesome dude (he defenestrates himself, pretty cool) Watch the movie.

Wow, lots of posts. xP I love Disney movies. I also love, silly as it may seem, the Land Before Time movies. xP They're funny, if you don't take them seriously.

edit;
They made Mulan. ^^

You know what really grinds my gears?

God, I'm so sick and tired of "DISNEY'S RACIST."
Seriously, next--they're going to start bickering ridiculously about how the prince of Princess and the Frog isn't black but rather, Brazilian/south american and how racist that is as well--because black people should only fall in love with other black people and that's that.
OHWAIT LOL It's already happened.

I don't even know why disney tries--there's no appeasing these people.

Not all the Disney princess have been white. They've got asian, indian, native american--No one ever bawwed over how stereo-typically native american Pocahontas was. But god forbid they attempt to make a black princess--because that's racist!!1! Which is probably why they've taken their sweet ass time to introduce the idea to people in the first place. because it's 'sensitive'. Pah.
If they do it, it's racist.
If they don't, it's racist.
No, the only 'racists' are the people who think it's a sensitive subject to begin with. It shouldn't even be an issue! It's not an issue and people are making it an issue. It's ludicrous.

Seriously, get over it.

And that's what grinds my gears.

Honestly how racist can a company be though when their main characters are two mice, two ducks, and a dog (er...make that a man-dog and a real dog) I'd call that racial diversity.

I think part of disney's problem is that anything released in the US (I don't know how it is for other countries) has to be pc or they get sued. Sad really, whatever happened to freedom of speech?

I guess that's what you get when you're huge, successful and full of cash.
No matter what the brilliance is behind it all.
Silly Americans and their oversensitivity to--everything X]

(generalizations are fun and insulting!)

I just hope their black princess has some attitude. I'd love to see the evil villain show up and be all, "I'ma get you, muahaha!" and instead of the princess screaming and running she's all, "Oh no you di'int!" *Punch* *Kick* *Headlock* *Shoulder throw* *Facestomp* "Yeah, what now, evil hag lady?". And then the girly prince is all, "Like whoah..."

That would be... epic win.
