I'm working on expanding the standard neondragonart.com layout to be default 1024x768 instead of 800x600. 800x600 screen sizes were very common in the late 90's and early 00's, but these days screens are much larger and working at higher resolutions.

What does this mean for the oekaki?

Basically the images and comments will have more room horizontally to display. This means bigger canvases will be possible. Our current size limitation is due to the fact that anything larger breaks the tables on the site, causing it do display in a very broken manner. Comments will also be slightly less squished, particularly the first and second comments that sits right beside the image itself.

I've also put in a request to Dormando, the person responsible for Doekaki's code, (Doekaki is the version of oekaki boards we have installed on the site.), to install the chibipaint applet as a 4th drawing applet option in the Doekaki code. Chibipaint has all the features of shiipainter pro, and it supports layer blend modes, canvas rotation, and pen tablet sensitivity. He said he'd look into it and that I should hear something back by mid-January. It does have a few bugs, but it seems like a very nice applet overall. Azure recommended it.

The layout is now expanded... but I seem to be having a glitch in the board configuration in regards to the size of the canvas. Whenever I log into the admin control panel and make the larger canvas changes, I seem unable to get the "save changes" button to actually click and save. Why is everything always broken!?

I see the new layout, and i also see a glitch in the expansion. Since i have no idea how the page is set up, i'm only guessing here, but it seems to me that the background image you have set for behind the oekaki is too small, and thus is repeating itself in the extra space? If possible, i'd suggest resizing the image and re-uploading it.

I'm wondering if the image is possibly cached for you. The image was expanded earlier. Can you link me the page where you see the incorrectly sized image? I've checked the boards, the draw applet, and the comments page.

As far as I know, that problem is now fixed and the tables are properly reformed. Having the comments less squished looks sooo much better now, thank you.

I'll second that. The tables seem to be fine, now.

I saw the broken tables, too.
That resolved itself after I cleared my browser cache.

I would still like to have the larger canvas size and the new applet. I'm just at a loss of how to increase the max canvas limits when the save changes button is broken Bargle!
