I went to OCAD recently, but I decided that Aboveground was much more fun. There was the store itself, but outside in pavilions were art supplies galore! My friends and I drooled at it for a while, but then decided that there was nothing interesting save for gigantic canvases for only six bucks, and we went into the store itself.

My jaw dropped.

IT. WAS. BEAUTIFUL. There were watercolor sections the size of my room, same with the acrylics and brushes. They even had real sable paintbrushes! :o Near the back were nice easels, tonnes of canvases, and to the left of the store from the entrance were pencil crayons, inking pens, clay tools and clay, and one hundred other art supplies, while on the second floor were easel sales.

I ran up to the pencil crayon section and saw separate Faber Castells. My friends were laughing as I sat there, drooling, at them. I bought cream, tan, rich chrome forest green, and also a pencil (haha) but what? THEY WERE OUT OF BLACK FABER CASTELLS. WHAT THE HADES?

I searched and searched, but only found dark, dark gray. So out of desperation, I bought a black prismacolor. (sob)

This entire picture is made out of the colors and pencil that I bought. Except for the blue eyecolor, that is from my own collection. Henceforth, only 5 colors were used in the entire thing :3 I could have made it 4 or even 3, but I decided to add a tan-ish underbelly.

Well? You likes?

That's it...I'm watching you know. I just can't get enough of your dragons... :amused: they are amazing.

Not only that but you draw gryphons...how much cooler could you get?

Amazing work! Very nicely done, so well that I had difficulty identifying what you used to create it. It look digital for a moment, which is a very nice effect. The hazyness looks okay, though you may want to later move up to a better quality scan. (like kinkos, fed-ex, or somewhere like it) I'd love to be able to see all the detail. And amazing for being done with only 5 colours!

Where is OCAD and Aboveground? I've never heard of the place. (And personally would like to find somewhere new that isn't Blicks, which costs me a fortune every three months or so)

lol, That's happened to me sooo many times. I get to the store, go down the ink pen isle....only to find they have either no Faber-Castell inking pens or are completely out of Microns 0.05 pen size. And the prisma can't be that bad. (Expensive though...)

So, yes, I likes. :J

Prismacolors are freaking amazing.. I love em'. My teacher had recommended them to me cause the lead they are made with blends well with each other. Anyways I do like the dragons your use of color is great.

Thanks, but I don't scan, I photograph XD. I use Faber Castells, which have a MUCH more uber color than prismas...those things can only be used to blend :K

-hardcore FC fan-

Aboveground is a store located beside the Ontario College of Art and Design, in Toronto ;3
