Bah. I know how annoying it can be trying to get traditional media images to look right on the computer...! You can get some decent results in Photoshop by going to
Image>Adjustments>Levels... and playing around with the little arrows and different colour channels and such though since you can make light colours lighter without affecting darker colours and adjust how much red or green or blue show up in the image. (
This is the result I got from playing around with the levels. I don't know how accurate it is since I haven't seen the original though...)
But anyway, it looks good! The blue of the dragon contrasts nicely with the warmer surrounding colours and the image is nicely balanced with the even amount of cool and warm colours. I really like the look of those rocks! They look so uh... JAGGED and rocky! I like rocks that are shaped like that! I really like those trees on the right too since they add uh... DEPTH or something to the image or something like that by hanging in front of the dragon and stuff.
If I were to critique something though, it would be that, the way the dragon's muzzle enters the water, it looks like it's sort of sandwiched between the water and the ground like uh... the left example in this poorly drawn attached image thing that I'm attaching...!

Though I'd also completely understand if it turned out to be some sort of inking mistake since I accidentally ink the wrong lines all the time myself. o_O
