I know it's not a dragon but...i felt like drawing Aphrodite for some reason. My photoshop is being mean and won't open for me so i had to use the camera (sorry 'bout the bad quality). It's going to be a beach background, and since i have never been that good at backgrounds and this is my first colored pencil beach background, does anyone have any good tips or tutorials?

She doesn't look near as... hot... as Aphrodite would be. Remember, Aphrodite is the goddess of SEXUAL love( ), not romantic love. Aros (Aphrodite's son, the romans call him Cupid) is the god of romantic love.( )

Ya, I"m just weird like that and don't make things look like they are supposed to...maybe change the dress a bit as i go... maybe this could be like the second she's born (since i belive she was born from ocean foam right?) I mean, i don't think all the guys would be all 'Marry me' as soon as she's born...

She is also a bit... freakishly tall and lanky. And, the breast area needs to be defined more.

Thank for the advice. I just did a 3 second quick coloring to the pic right now (camera sort of made it look even worse than it already is...Trust me, this isn't how i draw! i'm jus really lazy right now). anyway, I"m going to start a new and better version with a different pose and try to get more personality into it. And this one will be colored with watercolors and hopefully will be better.

Now this i believe is more of what Aphrodite looks like, right? Anyways, i like this sketch and will color it sometime later. Will be colored with water colors and maybe that'll make it easier. Took the picture with my camera so it killed it a bit. i know the hand is messed up, i'll fix it as i paint...and now, off to do homework for tomorrow.

She looks way more flaunty.

Loving that design, especially the hair. So simple, and yet it conveys the character so well. And the anatomy's great.

You probably should define the toes. Or put slippers on them, since you seem to have the basic shape of the foot pretty much down. :D

The one thing that has been bothering me in both the pictures is that her torso is way too long which makes her look very alien like.

I agree with the above poster; the torso seems a tad bit long. But the colors on the first one are really good, and it seems you've picked a much more challenging pose for the second one.

Lemon Trooden - Thank you, i just sort of see her hair as flowy and simple but pretty and pretty much like how i've drawn it. I wasn't trying to put on too much detail in the sketch, but the toes shall be defined somewhere near the end of the painting.

Everin - Who said Aphrodite isn't an alien...just kidding. I noticed that too at the very end when i finished the sketch but didn't pay too much attention to it too much until you pointed that out. I would have changed it, only i would have to earase her legs so they would fit, and knowing me, they wouldn't come out as right, so she'll just have to be an alien aphrodite. ^^

Drawing Dragon - As i said above, i would have changed it but i noticed it too late, it's nearly impossible for me to make the same thing exactly the same way twice (even bad sketches). Thank you, and yes, i end up making things challenging for me at some point, don't know why.
