Hehe, double posting is alright, as long as you're updating the thread with new content. >w<

But your new sketch is awesome! I love all the different poses, and the expressions are great! And you're really good with horse anatomy as well. 8D

Heh, well that's a weird looking critter XD.

The anatomy looks okay though it could use some improvements here and there. The elbow and shoulder practically seem to connect to eachother, as if there is no bone between them.

I take it the anatomy was mostly based off a horse's? As you can see here and here, a horse does have a fairly large bone between the shoulder and the elbow. It does not show as much on a horse photograph because it is often well covered in muscle and skin. However, the creature you drew here seems to me as skinny and not very muscular, so it would show more on him (you may want to look up pictures of dogs and cats, who are less stocky than a horse and provide better reference for thin creatures).

As usual, here's some redlines to support my critique and clear things out further:
Image

A few side notes would be that it's quite weird for a quadraped creature to lift up both feet on one side unless it's pacing, but in that case it would be moving quite fast. Your creature appears to be just walking in which case it would look more steady if you had it raise either just one foot or two feet on opposide sides, back and front. Anothing thing is in the face which bugged me a little, I think it would look far more spooky if you removed the beak. Right now it looks like a grinning owl face, which is odd, because birds don't have teeth. It looks spooky but also incorrect which kind of takes away the spookiness of it. If that makes sense XD.

Anyways that would be all, and I'm still fascinated by the originality of your critters! I think if you studied anatomy a bit more and kept in mind the way it would move, they would be absolutely epic x3.

Thanks for the lines, Lhune ^^ Actually, this was just a quick sketch - I didn't care all that much about anatomy, but I'll certainly keep your tips in mind next time I draw it :)

Errr... Actually a dog's, but I'm not much into canine anatomy yet xP

Heh, I know, but the pacing just looked... right for it. It was such a strange creature anyways xP But I'll keep that in mind!

Oh no, it's got to have the beak D: You can't remove the beak! I know birds don't have teeth, but this freaky creature just got to have them xP The grin was inspired by the Groke from Moomin, and, well, she IS scary! But I think I understand what you mean!

Thanks! Yeah, I've let anatomy take a break for a few days xP I will study more, I promise! And thanks for the confidence :amused:
