Nice, it has lots of teeth! D: Although I don't think it will be able to fly.

When I draw dragons, I usally start with the wings. Doing that you can see if you need to make something bigger or smaller depending if you want the dragon to be able to fly or not. I hope this bit of information helps you.

What you may want to do is study a couple of real life animals, the head structure in particular. Considering your style I would recommend studying crocodiles, dogs/wolves and horses. Especially pay close attention to the size and placement of the eyes and how the mouth works.

It's always very tempting to add so many teeth so close together, but you have to keep in mind the functionality of the teeth and if the creature will be able to close it's mouth. Where there is a tooth in the lower jaw there will be a hole in the upper jaw, at least when you're drawing sharp, pointy teeth. Flat teeth (like the front teeth of horses) will be in rows and fit onto eachother.

You're on the right track though, and I'm looking forward to seeing your progression as an artist in this thread :).

^^ Okay, so I looked into some of those animal's anatomy and did this little sketch, mixing a wolf with some sort of sea creature. Here is the result (and btw, thanks for the help)

In your latest dragon, the wing was still a bit off. Here's a reference picture so that you can better understand what a wing should look like.

Notice 2 things in this picture.

1) Bats have large wings in relation to their body.

2) There is a flap of skin connecting the animals side and the rest of the wing.

If you make your dragons wings a tad bigger (remember, they don't have to fit on the page either.) and remember to add the connecting flap, it'd really help push your drawings forward.

Basically, bats are really great to look at when trying to do dragons (:

As for the new dragon, your getting much better in the facial department. I like his eyebrow, I don't know why but I do. I also again enjoy your little scale details.

I guess something to do know would be to jump out of your comfort zone with these guys (head views from the side) and try 3/4 view, birds eye view, worms eye view (hehe I hope thats what its called I don't remember what underneath is), etc.

Not bad. And I agree with jwindjackal about the bats, just make the dragon more lizard-like. :amused:

So I tried to do the bat wings with the dragon this time and I also tried a different perspective (out of my confort zone). What should I improve?

This is really good. The only thing that I can say is that the skin between the last 'finger' and body should conect below the spikes on it's back. Keep up the good work!
