Okay, this is a monkey that needs some anatomy crits >:D Please tell me exactly whats wrong with no mercy, it is going to be a birthday present for a friend :yahoo: Also, forgive the pencil mark shading blurs, I haven't lineart-ified it yet :)

One thing that can really help you when drawing a complicated pose is to use a reference. Especially when you are just starting out as an artist, you use references to help you learn typical poses etc. I've used a reference here to build up a monkey picture from scratch - First we break down the body into basic shapes, and once the guidelines are placed we can build up detail from there. It always helps to make sure you study positions of the animal you draw before you draw it, instead of setting out and then regretting it afterwards :) I hope you find it useful!

Haha thanks! I did use something like a reference, but that is much better suited to what I need :D Thanks, I'll hopefully get a secod draft out soon.

(I think I forgot to mention that this is something of an outline/really rough draft)
