Alright well I think it might be time to start one of these art threadsfor all my artwork. I know its not what you expect but I only have one for now. I do have more in a binder but have to wait for someone to come back with the car. once I have the binder then I'll see about getting the rest of them. This one though is my first full body pic. I know the fingers and toes are not right but I'll work on it.

Not bad for your first fullbody pic! And the fingers aren't that bad! lol I started out worse. Do you want some redlines? I could make up a few for you if you want. :)

Thanks HydraTamer, go ahead with the redlines as I would need them.

First I saw that you made his stomach a little too flat, and his back legs are smaller than his front. So I showed his ribcage and played with his legs a little. I made his hind legs a bit bigger to match his front. And made his neck a bit thicker near the bottom.

I hope it helps in some way! :yahoo:

Thank you both for the redlines, both of you were right on certian things. the legs were too small as the neck was somewhat too thin (thanks again Hydra) and the horns were too low on his head (thank you Akerah for pointing that out) these redlines should help. Again thank you both for the redlines.

Hi, I'm Weasl, or more commonly known as Rose on DeviaintART.com!
I just wanted to help you out by redlining.

I made the legs a bit more stable and defined the rib cage a little more. Also, I numbered the parts (anatomy) of the front legs, back legs, and wings. If you look and a skeletal diagram, they have certain names, but I'll further explain using our own body parts:

On the front legs, the dragon's parts can be compared to your:
1. Shoulder
2. Upper arm
3. Lower arm
4. Wrist
5. Knuckles/Fingers

On the back legs, the dragon's parts can be compared to your:
1. Thigh
2. Lower leg
3. Foot
5. Toes

The wings are just like the front legs, but the fingers are stretched out a bit XD

Hope this helps! You'll get it soon enough :)

Sorry for a double post.

Well here is a couple new pics. I wanted to get them on here before I graduate this year. Well I know I haven't been using the advice and tips with these but I tried. I will try and redraw them once everything else is done. I probobly did worse on these (muscle wise).

Your hind legs seem to have improved since the first picture where they seemed a bit too thin - now they're getting to be the right thickness! Your dragon's neck seems to have improved too and looks like it flows into the head better! :)

I think out of the two newest ones you drew, the one on the bottom is the stronger one with the less sharply bent hind legs and slightly slimmer front legs. I like the long spiky hair on the top one though!

I drew some redlines on the second one to show how you could try to improve the structure of the forelegs/chest area, though it's probably mostly a recap of what other people have already mentioned. xD

The bluey-green lines in the front legs represent the actual bones that would be in the dragon's body so you can see how I got the legs to be shaped and positioned the way they are. A slight bump on the back right after the back of the neck meets the body can show a hint of the dragon's shoulder blade. I added a deeper chest where the ribcage would be (though this is if you're going for a mammal-like approach. The body would be shaped differently if you were going for something more snake- or lizard-like), and kind of slimmed down the forelegs.

If you're stuck on how to make a certain dragon body part look, try looking for pictures of animals that have similar body parts to get ideas for how to approach them in your own drawings. That is, if you can't get a decent view of the right sorts of animals in person!
