Hi guys, I was at the red cross charity shop today, and was looking through their cd sections and found a box saying Corel Painter 11 for only £45. I thought * :surprised: :surprised: :surprised: :surprised: :surprised: :surprised: :surprised: * this must be fake or something, and I asked the woman at the till, and she said a guy brought it in with a bunch of cd's and stuff - I looked through the other stuff, but it was all old stuff like sudoku masters 2004 etc - and corel painter 11 O_O. well, I bought it right off, but asked if I could return it if I didn't want it - anyways, I got it home and it works, real product key and everything :eager: :eager: :eager: :eager: :eager: :eager: :eager: So yeah, I now have Corel Painter 11 :D Has anybody got any optimal tips on using it? :P I've had a look round and its a bit different from photoshop :)

Take your tiiiiiiime. Biggest thing with Corel is how different it is from photoshop. Make sure you go into preferences > brush tracking. That's how you set up your tablets sensitivity. But just like photoshop you gotta play with it. It's got an amazing set of brushes with it that work like the real thing. It's way easier to create something in painter that looks like it would with a real medium.

I'm so happy for you :) I just got my version in the mail yesterday ^_^
There are loads of tutorials on-line, but if you've still got some casholla I would strongly suggest geting their magazine that they have out... and it shouldn't be too expensive for you if you already life in the UK, that's where it's from! Loads of useful stuff in there...
Have fun yuh? It's uber awesome, I like it so much more than photoshop :)

EDIT: I found this.. it might help a smidgeon :) it's for Painter IX but it's still got a similar workflow, etc.

it's a safe file... it's a pdf of a workshop from ImagineFX magazine.. which is also an epically good magazine :)
