Okay, well sorry for making this as I can see that there is already a topic about backgrounds and I know I am not ready for it (practically digital media or anything involved in that sort of aspect), but one of the art pieces I done, well I was told the that Background should have came first. And yet I come here and see the allot of other people add the background at the very end as finishing touches. the question that gets me is how does the background work (does it come first or is added at the very end as a finishing touch). so yeah I'm wondering, do you guys add the creature/character first and then background or do you add the background then the creature/character.

I uh wasn't sure where to put this but I hope I got it in the right place.

Well, it depends. If you want an awesome, perfectly tied backround and character... I think you should start with the backround. But if your character is flying or something to that extent, I think you should focus more on the character.

The rare times I did background, I put the character first, but I had in mind in what kind of environment I wanted it to be...So I kinda create both almost simultaneously.
