Overall, I'm quite happy with this rough draft. I see something wrong with his lower torso and tail. His feet are intentionally lacking detail (to be added in final version) so I can focus on the anatomy and action pose at this point.

The Scene/action: He's just stopped (from the power of his wings), and so, his tail should follow his running path, curling behind him, from inertia. Something looks a bit off.

I'm looking for fellow artists to positively critique, providing tips on the anatomy/action pose (or other problem I may have not seen). Compliments are not required, but appreciated.

Looks excellent! I love the design you've got going, and the concept is very unique. Quite nice for a rough draft. :D

A few little pointers on the anatomy, mainly just with the motion as you've got the actual muscles down pretty good:

Image

For the feet, I think the main thing is just to bring his right foot (our left) forward a bit to make it look more like he's kinda thrusting forwards to stop momentum (think eagle landing). Then that gives you a nice, strong, C-shaped action line (Depicted in blue) that'll flow really nicely through the creature. As for the tail (depicted in green), same thing applies, just give it a little more motion. Try to avoid harsh bends and try to keep it pretty flowy. Then I'd just also add a bit more curviness and flowy-ness to the wings as well, to keep it looking elegant and natural. :3

But, all in all, it's looking quite nice. Can't wait to see it progress. :D

Flowy-ness :weird: Never thought of that, but it works.
I didn't think of putting the tail in that pose.
I guess I was missing the foreshortening (foot in the foreground). :chocolate:

Thank you for the great critique :hyper:

This looks great! The motion that Andan mentioned would look really good, and this concept is really weird. Also, is there going to be a background to this? Overall, this has great potentional and it could turn out to be awesome!
