I've had an account there for a while and I love it. But lately the drawing feature won't work for me. I choose my settings, but then I get the screen where it should be and all there is is a little white rectangle in the corner with a red X.

Your Java applet probably needs updated for it to work. Just go to Java.com and download the latest update and it should work then.

The oekaki is temperamental. General good practices to follow include:

Have the latest Java.
Screenshot before you save, should the unfortunate happen.
Do not save or submit when your internet is down.
Do not attempt to save more than one project at one time. The resume feature will only hold one project at a time. Submitting multiple projects is fine, you just can't save multiple projects for later use at the same time.
