Hello all,

Ok picking up the pencil and trying to decide what to do was interesting. Thought I would start off again with studies in body parts. Here are some ears http://creakinfrog.deviantart.com/art/Study-in-ears-144186686 and one after playing with Photoshop for one of the first times.

These are really interesting - I'm lovin' the quirky style you've got with the ears (yet they still look realistic!) :]

Lovely severed ears you've got there. :-)

I agree with GoredGuar, they're quirky yet realistic.

Thanks Kiwiattack. I enjoy the quirky styles...lol.

Ok, just put up an old line drawing of a altered skeletal structure here http://creakinfrog.deviantart.com/art/C ... -144307569 - anyone feel up to creating something over the skeleton, feel free. I'm intrigued to see what the muscles and skin of this fellow would look like.

Enjoy.

Those ears are pretty awesome! I like the way they're not perfect (whoa, no idea how to write that in proper english) and the colours you use are simply amazing! Keep up the good work=)

Ok, not a body part, but a nice lesson using Photoshop. http://creakinfrog.deviantart.com/art/S ... -150147909

I don't have the highlights in yet and it needs a bit more tweaking (like adding background and scenery, lol), but constructive crits are always welcome

I really like the expressiveness of your style. The ears tell a story just with how they're designed, drawn out, and somewhat crooked. And I really like the wagon (another one that tells a story). I really look forward to seeing more of your art! :)

Thank you Mytherea. I'm really learning the layering effects, and now need to catch up with drawing by mouse. ha ha.

Again, not a body part, but playing with a few features in Photoshop. http://creakinfrog.deviantart.com/art/P ... -150720507

REALLY not happy with the tufts of grass around the base of the tree, but I was trying to play with brush strokes - going simple at a large size and seeing what would happen once shrunk. Any and all crits on this would be appreciated.

With a mouse, it's very hard to get the tapering effect of grass. Easiest way to do it is to use the grass brush which is included in photoshop then brush over it a little to make it look more realistic and less like a brush. You can also (if using regular photoshop instead of elements) adjust the direction and spread of the brush so that it looks even more like grass.

The crags in the stone/cliff/rock need to be deeper and more frequent. Right now, they look a little flat. Cliffs tend to have roots and plants and dirt sticking out at random areas. Small stones are also very common. A grainy photoshop brush will also help to add a bit of sandy texture to make it look more like it's covered in soil.

I really like the gnarled look of the tree. It's a wonderfully intriguing balance between sweet (the flowers) and darkly disturbing (the way the tree seems bent in on itself). I really like how your style looks. It's very expressive. :)
