Well, I've started a new piece of artwork-my Assassin. He's still in development, so not much info on him except that he's insane(or at least partly-I haven't decided yet).

So, I think the hands need some help, and the folds in the robes.

He is wearing a mask, btw, but he also has white skin. No other colour seems to fit DX So I've tried to add scars so we can tell the difference.....but I don't think I'm doing to well on those either ^^' Are they too red, or something? Should I lighten them to a more pinkish shade?

OK, here is a small update on the purple dragon. That bg is killing me!! Any suggestions? Forest? Castle? River? Chaotic colours??

And I still need lots o help with the assassin. No progression with him DX I've looked at all the tutorials for clothe folds, but they don't help >.< And the hands are off too >.>

Oh well, a new piece (actually, two new ones!)! Here is a doodle I did in math class. I rather liked it, so I'm digitizing it :D



And I'll go and get the other one soon. It's on my laptop, must run up and get it!

For the Assassin: I think that the hands are a little bony is all. The scars should probably be a somewhat lighter shade as scars fade with time. If they are new they should hold a deeper color, older ones should be lighter unless they are overtly large scars, in which case the center of the scar doesnt really fade at all but the outside edges would. Clothing folds are not very easy to draw correctly. If possible, get a sheet, put it on your shoulders, hold the pose, and have someone take a picture. Make sure that the lighting is from the sun or another very bright light source, as this provides a good amount of contrast for you to look at for help.

Dragon 1: I think either a ruined castle or sky would work best for the BG. I do like the portion of the environment that you have finished though. It looks nice.

Dragon 2: The feet seem to be a little flat and the front one looks like it is extremely big. Also, the joint on the wing seems to be very awkward to me, like it has 2 elbows. The eye also seems to be very big.

Hmm.....good point about the scars. Will fix. And I will follow up with your suggestion on the cloth, hopefully it will work, thanks :D

I was thinking of those options, but instead tried to do a jungle. Didn't really work I think I'll go with a ruined castle on the top of a mountain instead (basically both of your suggestions). I added an apple (going for the 'seductress' kind of look) but I might leave it.

And I was going for a more cartoonish look than a realistic look, so the eye is probably going to stay big. But I will change the hands/feet. Arg, they will be the death of me yet! (AKA I can't draw them). I will also fix the joints also. Sorry, I was trying out a new style (lol) and it again, didn't work. I will convert it back to the original doodle style

(And...uhhh...the grey stuff down there is mist. Any help on how to improve?)
