Yeah, I used to really hate Sil and I still hate drawing him (mostly from a front view, because I suck at horses) but as a character he's kind of grown on me. I dunno. He'll be out in another chapter just for the sake of my sanity. Centaurs are hard! And he wouldn't get along with Faustulus anyway.
The new page will come around tomorrow. Upset Sil is upset.

What is Xua running from? Who is Xua? I noticed she's a Karsain (did I get the name right?), but that's all I know.

There was another picture of Xua in the original post in this thread, but she looked a lot more like her normal self there. She tends to be kind of icy and indifferent toward most things.
Oh yeah, the joy of the picture is that you can use your imagination regarding what she's holding and who she's running from. One of my friends likes to think she's carrying a bundle of vegetables and running from one of the other characters. *shrug* I guess it can be whatever you want!

And yeah, she's a north Kirsaian. Well, half-northerner, anyway. The other half is vampire, but it's hard to tell that...

Half-vampyre? Hmm....

I think...she is carrying...a...BABY POLAR BEAR!! And she is running from a mutant squirrel! XD

WiF vampires are a lot like earth humans. Same lifespan, same general anatomy, same set of races. The only difference is that they can use magic, but can't produce the magicka on their own (it's like a video game where you need MP to cast spells, y'know.) So they're rumored to drink Satyr blood to get the magicka from it, though in modern times they've developed less messy ways to get it out of Satyrs. Still, the term "vampire" has stuck, even though properly they're called "common humans" or just "humans", though the common is added on to differentiate from the other subspecies of human - Kirsaian.

So Xu-xu is a Kirsaian/human mix, really, with a mixed ability set... She has a dragon form like a Kirsaian, but it's small, and she has magic resistances like a vampire, but can't actually use magic herself. I can go into loads more detail, but I won't unless you want me to. XD

And you know, I wouldn't be too surprised if she was holding a baby polar bear wrapped up in a warm little blanket or something... But maybe the police are after her because she's keeping an animal that's endangered. XD


ANYWAY vote to see a chibi of Aisling! Her name wasn't mentioned at all in the comic yet, but you'll know her when you see her (if you've read it, of course)!

Oh yes! I know who she is! Will her name ever be mentioned in the comics, or is this something more for you and fans behind the scene? I like her "superior yet kind" expression.

I like your idea of vampyres. Original, yet still makes sense when compared to vampire mythology.

Does Xu-xu's heritage cause any problems for her, like status in a clan or something? I wouldn't be surprised, although it would be nice to see something where "half-breeds" are discriminated. But at least she can still turn into a dragon! That's the ability I would worry about losing. XD

I suppose the police could be running after her, but I like the idea of a mutant squirrel better. XD

Nah, she was born in Kirsai to two other Kirsaian half-breeds so it's just like a simple family structure.

"Clans", as it were, are pretty uncommon. Sometimes vampires do this, but Kirsaians and other species can be part of a clan if they're integrated in properly (like through marriage, as a slave, a very close friend, whatever by official means). If Xua's parents were in a large vampire family she would probably have no trouble. But as it is, they're just a simple family...

The only problem Xua has as far as her heritage is concerned is that royal Kirsaians (noblemen, royalty, anything like that and often inbred) kind of frown upon her. And there's a character later on who is completely "racist" towards vampires and talks poorly of them in front of Xua, not realizing she's half-vampire. XD It kind of makes her mad.


As for Aisling, her name will be brought up later! I promise!

Xua will accept you as a friend, but she has a really weird way of showing friendship. Which may include ignoring you, acting generally indifferent, and sometimes making snarky remarks.

Wait, she's like that with everyone nevermind. Ice Queen.

And Leo doesn't mean to insult her (because he has no idea she's half vampire), there's just a whole lot of racial tension in the story and he's one of the really racist people. Against vampires. Sil makes a few distasteful remarks about Kirsaians, and Katene (Torin's mom) is deliberately offensive toward Highland Elves. XD

ALSOALSOALSO Atomi needs heeeelp! I'm doing a Sil ref sheet and Sil's a big guy but I don't know how big. I have his height, but I don't know how much a centaur would weigh. Any ideas? Human part is comparable to a buff human male torso, you know. Horse part is smaller than a real horse for proportion reasons, so it's not like giant horse part/teenytiny human part.

So I need help. Does 1000 lbs sound fair?

1000 lbs! I'm not sure if any horse other than draft horses weigh that much. I think horses are more in the hundreds. I just googled horse weight and found a chart that uses their girth size to estimate. So based on Sil's size, I think you can estimate using this: http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resource ... -chart.htm

Don't forget that Sil's human weight addon is only 1/2 of a full grown man, since the everything ab-down is missing.
