NDA Art Critique Message Boards

I think it might be a fun idea to do a board-wide challenge of the week. The challenges would vary greatly, but all would be aimed at artistic betterment in a wide variety of areas, and would be good exercises for any who participate. For example:

Challenge 1: Draw 5-10 5 minute figures from life or from pose-maniacs.com.
Challenge 2: Create a piece of art that is not pure line that shows light, shadow, and form, using only pure black and pure white.
Challenge 3: Design a creature, then draw it without its skin (muscles + organs ect.) and then its skeleton.

Those that would participate could sign up on a week by week basis and would have one week to complete each exercise. As things are finished or in-progress and posted to the thread, feedback on the entries could be given. I don't think this would be a contest per-say, just an fun way to branch out and try some new things, as well as something that the board can do as a whole.

Thoughts on the challenge idea, or ideas to improve the boards as a whole?

On a quasi related note: I'm thinking that the CCCCT board should be removed and all topics in it moved to General Discussion. As things stand it's a collection of randomly posted contests or trade requests, and it's not very well visited and greatly disorganized. There aren't any clubs to speak of. None of the contests were particularly well attended by the board itself without a lot of cross advertising to DA and the like. Topics that have to do with commissions, contests, and trades can be easily viewed and posted to in the general discussion, where they will be more visible and read.

Thoughts?

That sounds like a lot of fun and a great challenge as well. And I might have some ideas for challenges.
Maybe one with speedpaintings? Or use color only no black allowed (for traditional media, like paint).
Or draw something lineless using only light and shadows to bring it to life.
I would love to enter some time if the plan is going to put in action.

Suggestions for challenges are very welcome =3 First I do want to find out of the idea as a whole is something that the community would be receptive to.

Well, you already made me exited. x3 So I think there might be more interested. Maybe a poll would help? Or sending everyone a message about the idea.

I think that the weekly challenge would be a great idea!

I'm game for it, may give everyone a chance to cross pencils in mortal art combat!

Tho a week may not be enough time for some.

sounds awesome, i got some idea's
unusual pose's(cuz face it we have seen the same general pose's recycled over and over)
unique creature's(with out human anatomy being attacted in any way shape or form, cuz im tired or its half human half snake, or half human half monkey turtle or what ever. something original for once)
spazoid details(see how much detail you can jam pack into one drawing in only one week)

Sounds like a great idea for those with time to participate, i havent logged in in months so, obviously not likely i will be doin any of these... as for the movement of the many C's and a T i say do it, its more just like a massive junk heap, delete the unnecessary topics and move the others over, that way you can do some cleaning and sort out hte fake from the real ;)

I like the idea of the weekly registration for the challenge since we all have busy life and that we can't really engaged ourself for a long time :D

Plus, artists tend to work better with deadlines XD
