Okay, see here is my art problem, I have random spurs of inspiration that when finished, die away for a bit XD

Anyway, I was playin GIMP and thought I'd work on an Avatar, Dunno why, but it is good practice for both GIMP and shading, So... Here is what I have-

Are you using a mouse or a tablet? And how do layers work?

I'm actually using a mouse pad on my laptop ^^ Really easy.

Layers? In GIMP? I don't pay much mind to really, This is one layer, I took the brush tool and used opacity on it to 50% the background is going to be invisble ^^ But for a layer you basically right click the image, a message box will pop up, you can go and click layer, new layer {OR copy layer} and a new layer with the same thing as the original comes up. The bottom layer ALWAYS is first. dunno why, but you can switch um over and what not to see it different. ^^ Hope that helped :/ I never much like Layers...

A mouse pad on the lap top easy? Haha i find it very difficult for me to use those to draw and colour with. I guess im just use to using a mouse. Anyway about the drawing its looking pretty good so far, and you made it look really smooth. Keep on at it

Thank's D-rider! And yea, I have been using a mouse pad since I moved to Texas :} Its awesome, gotta get used to it and I tried using a pen on the mouse pad, just for giggles, it was AWESOME XD
