NDA Art Critique Message Boards

Every week or two I will screen shot an oekaki and use it as the news button image on the NDA main page. Such as this:



I typically go through and screen shot the first thing that catches my eye, but I think I've featured two artists twice as I don't keep very good track :cowbell: If you've seen an image that you think should be featured, feel free to post the link here and I'll consider these first.

Something to note: What I feature does not always have to do with the art. Half the time I cannot use a really nice piece of artwork because of the dimensions of it. Really tall images do not work well because of the size of the news buttons. I also try and avoid icons that clash with the current art and tutorial feature, just so that the front page doesn't look completely random. If I do not feature everything that is suggested, it is no reflection on the artwork itself, simply how the screen shot worked with the layout of the site.

I think it is a cool idea because you using it as a button gives the artist a sense of accomplishment. Especially if you pick it cuz you are such a good artist

Ya, I'm sure it will keep the artists trying their hardest just to get the button.

just out of morbid curiosity, what dimensions would you recomend for the button?

I thought it was the coolest thing when I saw it! I really like the idea!

No real recommendation. Square images usually don't work though because no matter which way I rotate them, they end up having half the graphic cropped out.

I want to get the oekaki graphic cycling more. Every three weeks seems more appropriate than every three months, haha.
