I'm at the point where it's "For the love of Bob, shut the anon-spammers up >:O !" :/ Making people register(which only takes a matter of minutes!) would drastically help us fix the problem, especially since mods can actually do things about accounts and we can't about ips.

It's really starting to hurt the more sensitive users feelings with what they're saying, and they need to be defended rather than us just deleting stuff. It only takes one bad comment to ruin an artist's self esteem, and even make them stop drawing forever... and that is not the environment we should let happen!

So no anon's has my utter and full support. It may not be what people like, but it's what we need right now.

That does make sense, I guess I'm just so used to being buraded (in general, offline and online, though mostly off :-( ) that I just ignore it now. :why:

So yah, your point about it annoying people and killing their want to draw is good. If you think about it like that it makes sense to have no Anon stuffs. :j

Overall, I think removing anon posting will help prevent and reduce spam in general.
I'll try to re-direct a few more people from the board to this thread when I post my next picture.

I'm liking what you guys are saying...

But is there anything we can really do about it?
I mean, it's Neon who controls all this stuff, and she's a pretty busy lady. :3

I won't hurt to try, though.

Personally, I believe that at this point in time, the option for anonymous posting should be removed myself. I don't think that it is asking too much for someone to provide an email, username, and password for posting. Moreover, it would not only make spamming quite a bit harder, and ensure that innocent parties who are in a public computer/i.p. address situation don't get banned along with anonymous spammers, it would also eliminate the issue where people forget to log in and are then unable to save their work, because doekaki will not allow the applet to be opened without being logged in when anon posting is not allowed.

Overall, it is my belief that the disadvantages to the allowing if anon-posting outweigh any advantages, though that is just my opinion and everyone can take it for what it is worth.

i agree with draikonis. maily about the forgetting to log in and save work issue :annoyed: . i have never noticed a spammer, either neon does a great job or i am lucky enough to not see it :) .

There have been problems with spam on and off through the ages, but it generally gets taken care of, though not by neon, the actual creator of the oekaki. One of the mods (draikonis, azure, hel-pup or i) is the one who takes care of it. :3
