Are you sure your talking about Cs4? Cs4 is the newest top of the line version of photoshop. It has new awesome tools like the ability to dodge and burn but retain the color. It also comes with around a $700 price tag. D: D: D: So even if this is the version you speak of don't download it, if something screws up that is hundreds of dollars down the drain. :-(

Photoshop CS4 is an excellent program.
You can re-download it if it fails, but it's still better to get it on disk. And there is something better... Photoshop CS4 Extended. It is even more expensive, at $1,000.
Regular Photoshop CS4 is more than good enough for most people though.

If you're still in full-time education, you can get the student edition of CS4 or CS4 for a lower price. It still contains everything the normal version has - you have to prove you're a student for the serial code though. :]

depending what you were going to use it for and how it feels with you I would highly suggest Corel Painter 11 ...
It's got an excellent and smooth feel to it, it takes a couple seconds to get used to but it's a wonderful program. I prefer it over photoshop just because of the way it feels when I do draw or paint... And it comes with a much cheaper price tag, for students (if you're institute qualifies) can be as little as $99 for the full program... But that's just like CS4 .. make sure you look into student pricing, it's MUCH cheaper if you do it that way

But I would take a gander at painter 11 if you're going to be using it for art...

I would probably suggest you download a demo first, though, if you're going to try Corel Painter instead.

Some people love it, some people can't use it at all. So it's best to figure out which one you are before you blow all your money on it. xD
