Getting back into the swing of updating my site with tutorials. Ideally I'd like to try and update with one online tutorial per month as time allows. These tutorials are different from my book tutorials and are going to be created to be completely for the web :-) The newest one is here:

Image

I'm curious what tutorials interest you guys the most. You can vote for up to 3 things. I would like to alternate between drawing tutorials, tutorials on information artists should have, and tutorials on using traditional and digital mediums. If you have suggestions for additional tutorials, please list them here.

Note that I will not do tutorials for copyrighted characters, logos, or celebrities. When making suggestions, I would like you to also note that you should probably ask me for things you already see me doing. Asking me to create a tutorial for oil painting when you see not a single oil painting in my gallery is silly: To pretend that I am the authority on something I have little to no experience with would be rather presumptuous! I'd rather teach you something that I know about then "teach" you my best guess and give you inaccurate information.

I voted for linework, clouds, and human heads.

But I'm sure whatever you do will be awesome, so yeah. 8D

Great work with that hand tutorial, too; great way to simplify the anatomy!

God, Dos and Don't for commissioned work
and
Marketing your website.

Those I feel are the most useful here. There's a ton of tutorials on everything else in this poll already, but I feel those two don't have enough information on them floating around. And people often don't understand the importance of that kind of information.

Hmm...personally, I would like to see:

Photoshop: Linework
and...
Photoshop: Preparing your Sketch or Inking for color

Can't really decide on the third one. I'll get back to you on that one.

Haha. Because the world of warcraft trolls are copyright to blizzard, I would not feel completely comfortable doing a tutorial on how to draw them. I think that trolls are super cute too! Who needs shoes?

I was thinking the same thing. I think that one of the reasons why you don't see a lot of them is "lol hits". It's easy to get a lot of hits and visitors and praise for something visual, but relevent text... not so much. Even though it would only be useful to a handful of my visitors (most do not take commissinos, let alone possess their own domain to market) I think that putting such information out there is important.

Mind you, such information probably allready IS out there on the internet, scattered across blogs and such. I suppose this would be my take on it. ^^

If you could, at some point and time, maybe a tutorial on how to draw blades? Like knifes and swords?
If not tis okay :) Just throwing out a random suggestion.

I'd say Artist: Commissioned Work: The Do's and Don'ts of Commissioned Work. On the old boards, there were so many (okay...3) threads about commisions do or don'ts.

A clouds tutorial would be nice. I can't paint clouds for the life of me, which is really annoying because I can't slap them in as the bg of one of my pics instead of doing something that takes forever and doesn't look as good as the rest of the pic.

Western dragons are generally more muscular and/or blocky, they have more shape. Eastern dragons may have smaller wings, be snake like and it is believed by the Asian culture that eastern dragons are symbols of benevolence or something like that, so they probably aren't fighting or being mean (like a chinese dragon)
