Long time no see, huh?
I get distracted easily, so I haven't been drawing on here as much as I probably should. Heh.

Have a Clydesdale. Felt like drawing somethin' and a horse came out of it, so I drew one with fluffy hoofed feet for ya'll.

C&C is welcome, but I'm well aware of horse anatomy all ready. My pen was jittery-like for some reason.

He is very lovely, the mane is awesome, and your style is very clear. However I am a horse person, and although it is awesome if you were going for a characterized look, i just want to mention since you were working on anatomy that their feathers aren't usually the only thing that stands out. You can just tell that it is a Clydesdale without even seeing their feet because they have really thick necks and barreled chests and stomachs. In all, what I'm trying to say is that he seems to make him a bit skinner then he should be in those areas. But other then that he is fantastic! Did you give him a name?

Beewop. This is my entry for the Fandom Contest, though it has a clash of a bit of fandoms, so let me explain.
The scene takes place in Minecraft, and if you don't know, you can change your character's skin, his being a reinterpretation of a creeper and mine being the character from Journey. But my main fandom here is Rooster Teeth or more specifically Achievement Hunter.
Their Minecraft Let's Plays are one of the first videos of their's that I've watched and I immediately became addicted. I found them while going through a tough time, so they helped me forget and laugh it all away. They play games, make shorts, and even test game theories in real life in a show called Immersion.
The fella in the picture with me here is Gavin, whom I have the most respect for. He started off in the Slow Mo Guys and was a fan of Rooster Teeth before he actually joined, so he's living the dream! However, he's constantly the butt of the joke due to his accent and vocabulary and even his nose. (NGL, I love me a nice shnozz.)
I don't know if I'm looking too deep into it, or I'm so sympathetic/empathetic because I was a victim in school, or what, but I just hope they ease up on him because in some videos you can tell he gets really upset and it's hard to watch. And if I were to join Rooster Teeth, which I also have a dream of doing, I would befriend him in a blink of an eye and we can reek havoc together. umu

I just use the pen tool for everything, with certain pen pressure settings and opacity settings for different textures and stuff.

i messed up on her right eye but oh well.

I started of drawing Hayley but now it sort of looks like me, although I don't have a scar over my eye.
I do have red contacts and piercings but I don't have the shirt or a choker even though I do wear a lot of black.

I started drawing things from what I see, been watching some Hellsing and just observing the way things are shaped on Seras' face, if any of you know what that is... obviously I cant draw anything female.

The mouth and the nose I need some work on. Any advice?

For noses I like to think of a rounded stretched out pyramid shape. Deepest part is near the eye cavity and then sort of juts out to the highest point slightly above the nostrils. Your outline seems a little thick. Not sure if it was intentional.
As for lips... I don't really know. The character is pretty pale to begin with.. I think you have a good start when it comes to the shape of things.. Are those piercings? fangs? or just heavy outline?

If you like I could attempt to re-draw this character to illustrate some of those ideas.. Don't expect too much though. I am quite an amateur myself and likely wont be able to match the aesthetic you are going for.

Nystev, chill out. Just because you are tired of people asking for help does not mean you can bash them for doing so, and it does not mean that you can assume every one else is tired either. While you have a point on the self-help with tutorials, it does not hurt for other people to help point out mistakes or offer a way of fixing something in an artwork. In fact, sometimes an artist may not even notice a mistake in their artwork until someone points it out. Please play nice on the boards.

Well, then, I humbly and sincerely apologize for assuming what others' opinions might have been on the matter. I agree, we're generally too close to our own art to notice the flaws, so I think it's great to ask for peer review, and then to acknowledge and listen to it so we can improve... but also to search on our own for self-help when we know there is something we wish to improve. :)

this picture really didn't take me that long, I was too busy goofing around and taking my sweet time.

Am I right in assuming the main way the dodge coloring failed was in turning the green parts yellow? This is a reason (probably the main reason) many of us use it sparingly (possibly why so many don't use it at all), it skews colors. What happened is there was a little red in your green, and dodge brightens all the components, but the green could only get so much brighter, when it was at full, the red component was still being brightened. This can be a great effect, it makes it look like the color is so bright the most intense parts are too much for the camera, but it's easy for it to go too far. The dimmer parts of the green flame around his haunches and back look really good that way, but the brighter parts to the left look too blown-out.

What you might want to do when you want some light sources to be even brighter than the others, is to make the entire picture a little bit darker, and then go over the brighter parts with the starting color again and brighten them.

What I really like is how you did the green light reflecting off his haunch, he looks so shiny! Very convincing. I think you should start paying more attention to the direction the main light is coming from when shading, you could (with a lot of practice) make the rest of him look that shiny, too.

I just really want to say that you've been improving so much! You've got some nice structure going on in your dragon's head, and I especially like how you used the shading to show texture on the jaw. I really like the eye, with the bounce light on the eyelids/wrinkles. Very nice.

Hello everyone. I haven't disappeared, except I have school and exams trying to eat my face. In fact, I'll be taking my biggest exam tomorrow, and then I should have more time on my hands. It's nice to see all of you though!

This isn't my character (even though I darn well wish it was), it's fan art of a character from a game. I'm curious to see if anyone knows who he is, but I doubt it. The sad thing is that I'm making fan art of a game I've actually never played. >.< The weird thing is I can't stop though, because the design of this guy is so amazing. And I'm happy because I'm slowly improving! yay! :D

Its a really neat view you have, but I do agree, more light and shadow would have made it clearer. If you look at the beak (which is awesome by the way) it stands out because it has that light reflection near the top and the shadows are a bit easier to pick out and therefore the beak seems solid. If you can still edit this and add the shadows and light to the rest of it, I recommend that you do because this is very original. Sometimes when i have something in mind for that long, I redo it several times before I get it how I like it.
