My entry for the cute dragon contest... I guess. The dragon's name is Delilah. She's a feathered/furred dragon and is omnivorous. She particularly likes 'people food'. She lives mainly in the forest with her family, but will sometimes come out in search of the said 'people food', much to her parents' chagrin.

The oekaki kept messing with me while I was drawing this, so I had to keep saving and resuming. I'm not exactly sure how long this took, but I'm pretty sure I spent at least 45 minutes.

Okay, so... what do you people think about this? I know its not a usual piece of art but I had to do this map, so as to help people understand whereabouts everything in this story is.

A particular problem i had was the connection with Alagasia at the bottom. I literally had to get my copy of 'Inheritance' by Paolini and pictured how i could piece it all together. But i forgot to label that lake at the bottom, cuz' i couldn't remember its name from Eragon.
Oh, and C&C would be really appreciated.

Aw. thanks ladies. Thats actually the first time I have ever done a map on here. FTR: i had been drawing it on paper for about a week, but i only got about half of it on here. the other side will overlap on the western side a bit.

I also have had a few of the names in my head for a while, the rest were just sorta... spur of the moment of certain other places i know of. eg. 'Blackreach' (but i already liked that one), 'The Eyrie', and on the east is gonna be the Isle of Firee, and it's city i have named Norfair.'

You guys should try drawing maps, it can be quite fun.

Blackreach sounds cool. :3 I have tried drawing a map before. My friend from middle school, Mike. He and I had written or partially written a story about a dragon named Prysm and her quest to obtain different elemental orbs in order to unleash her ultimate power to defeat the dark dragon lord and release her dragon lover from his evil grasp. Or at least, that's what I remember from it. It's been a few years. :3 We named their land "Orlo" and several times we tried drawing a map for it. It was so hard for me haha. I think it's almost a talent to be able to come up with and properly execute a map, which is why I think you should get recognition for yours. :3 Not everyone can create a map as successful as this.

Actually, as a matter of fact I've made a map too. Although it could use some serious development. The name of the world is Tallia, although that is only the ancient name by which it was known collectively. Now it is sadly divided into two nations, the elven nation (known as Larcoonia) and the demon nation (known as drydia). I may need to add a water nation as well. And possibly a sky nation, but how would I do that? :/ There could be a lot of serious map making in the near future. As well as story writing and illustrating.....

Prysm: 'Blackreach' was the name of a giant underground cavern in Skyrim. I liked the name so I thought, what the hell, might as well. i think when it comes to drawing maps, you need a bit of patience. draw the place first, then add the names. i think that works too. lol, i almost read the name of your story's setting really wrong... i know its Orlo now and not Orio. aww.. thanks for the comments btw.

Puma: The place names of your story sound quite cool. I advise for the Water and Sky nations, you do separate maps. You should definitly do some more writing and stuff. BTW, I have a favour to ask of you in the near future if you're interested in the appearance of Daedrid.

Kazemde is an ambassador from the Gods to the Pharaohs and because of that, he holds many secrets. He talks little, but when he does, it is wise to listen to him well for in his words, one can find the answer to their problems and great wisdom.

Wow first I don't draw for about 6 months and now twice in two days...I must have the Oekaki bug again! I missed you people~

About the picture; she's an old dragon OC of mine created to rival my other dragon character, Draksaku. Only this time I drew her as a grim reaper for Halloween. Mixing the rainbow lineart and detailed colouring was done by accident but I think I quite like it? What do you think?

On the one hand, I love the contrast of the rainbow lineart, but on the other, combined with the smooth watercolour effect, it's a bit too sketchy for my liking. That is only me, though, art is always subject to taste. And it does look terrific. (Also, I'm on a rather horrible netbook, so it might look different on a normal screen, in which case, most of what I've said is moot.)

Oh my god, you guys, you have no idea how much I've missed you all!

And geez, lotsa stuff has happened...
Cosplayed twice, got the computer fixed yesterday, GOT A TUMBLR YAY (gregarioustreason.tumblr.com), confessed love to someone and got rejected (again, but I felt all giggly about it), helped two of my best friends get together into a relationship, and am pretty close to flat out saying that I'm pansex .3. Still kinda iffy about it, but it makes the most sense, so eh.

I wanted to do more with this, but the tablet acted up towards the end, so I had to leave it as-is. OTL
It is so badddddd though I need to make more changes to the furrrrrrrrrrrrrr gad
But I'm hoping that, given my absence from digital art, this doesn't suck too horrendously? ... Maybe...?

In the event that the laggyness of my Tablet is temporary, I do plan to draw here more often... I miss you all!

As for the fur, you're on the right track, just dullen the yellow and add in mid-tones and highlight lines (to mimic fur hairs). I have to say though, you're definitely improving, certainly with perspective and anatomy. Looking forward to seeing more pictures from you!

Yes, pansexual is where gender does not come in play at all for attraction. It's more personality and the what makes up the person instead of gender ever playing a role. Looks also don't play very much into as well. I identify as pansexual more so than bisexual, though not all people fit into a category.

Everybody grows at their own rate :) same with you. I've seen the traditional stuff you put on FB, you've improved massively since I first saw your art.

The face and foreshortening are actually well done, but I'd suggest have the lineart darker than any of the other colours you're using - it gives a more pleasant effect that way. Also, use watercolour to achieve different tones in the fur.

Seriously, you've improved a lot. Don't be too harsh of yourself ;)

Aww, this is great! This was turning out so well! Why didn't you finish it :( oh well, it brilliant without finishingness. The colours are really cool and the shading is great!

Unfortunately you can't retouch pictures here (if you upload them then they're permanently uploaded as is) but what you can do is save them in a private archive for up to two weeks at a time, then click the "resume" button up top to work on it more. You can only have one drawing in there though, so you have to be aware of that ^^

This is really cute, and it looks pretty finished to me!
