ok i think i know what i'm doing now
this is another species for my unnamed project. these guys are called Flicks, and this particular little lad is named Fingee (finn-jee).
they're small, five foot average. fin is relatively tall at about 5'4. originating in the deciduous forests of the monsters' realm, they have spread over most of the planet. due to their small size, subservient attitude (generally), and surprising strength, they are often captured for slave labor in the less savory parts of the travelers' land (there are areas that are populated mostly by criminals from the Cities). there are usually a few hundred flicks enslaved at any point--as many escape as are captured/born into it.
they have thin, soft fur covering their entire bodies, except for their palms, feet pads, and stomach, which are hairless. their feet and hands have leathery pads, but they still wear padding to protect themselves. the thickest fur is on their heads, their shoulders and necks, and the ends of their tails. they have prehensile tails, which are almost as strong as an arm. browns and greys are most common, but yellows, whites, blacks, and even dark greens are possible. stripes and blotchy spots are common, small spots and solid colors are uncommon, and speckles, tiger/zebra-type stripes, and dappled markings are rare. the pupil is usually a bright shade of the iris. heterochromia is surprising common, perhaps 1 in 35. there is little visible difference between the sexes, apart from genitalia and breasts (which are small anyway). females have thicker, softer fur. flicks are completely sentient and are just like little furry people. they are excellent adapters and can fit into any situation.
they have no real social structure, being so spread apart. wild flicks will occasionally come together in familial groups of four or five, and the eldest is usually in charge. those living in the Land get minor jobs or work at one of the many not-entirely-honest carnivals. those that are enslaved do whatever their owner wishes, though generally they work with animals. they wear a collar with the color or pattern their owner is associated with--for example, fin works for clodhopper red, a wealthy saddlehound breeder.

The design is gorgeous, everything fits together so fluidly. How could anyone want to enslave such a lovely creature!? I would love to see more of these fellas. ;w;

lady; thanks. uwu it's just a story thing, they're not all slaves. sometimes even the ones that are aren't treated like it.

how could anyone want to enslave anything? this world is similar to ours in the 17-1800s, slavery is considered normal.
