"So this is 'Elven' hospitality huh?"
Cane looked around in bewilderment as He and Daedrid Entered a vast jungle of buildings within trees and vice versa. The great Oaks, Sycamores, Hawthornes and an assortment of other trees made the Forest into a webwork of roads, bridges and all sorts of other structures. Cane picked up a glowing, turquoise plant from the ground. He had recognised it as 'Virnroot' from his education, but he had never even seen the plant in its fullest. he dug a hole in the ground quickly and planted the root, as the archers were eager to usher them onwards.
"I wish you could see this Daedrid."
-I don't need to. i can sense it, all of it! Its... to think of a word... its beautiful! -
Daedrid had been bound by the archers and soldiers, and was busy sniffing his way through the ground matter as a dog does when tracking. Cane, used to find this behaviour somewhat humorous, but had learnt that it was natural for Daedrid and had since stopped laughing.
Walking through the elven city, Cane felt dumbfounded, for above the massive corridors of trees, he observed a number of great dragons. they were an all-manner of colours, but in coherence with the city's hues, most were forest green and dark brown, with the odd indigo as was the flower of the Virnroot which littered the ground. He smiled with joy, recalling the sensations he felt as he and Yeersha- the village girl- observed Daedrid's egg for the first time. The wonder he once felt seemed to manifest itself around him, and his eyes gleamed despite the lack of starlight above them.
"Halt."
An elven guard, clad in emerald- armour with a leaf-green bladed bayonette stood before them, blocking their way.
"These ones claim to have been sent from the north. they have business with Queen Arya in Ellesmera." One of the archers said to the guard.
"I shall address the blue creature." the guard replied. Cane took a sudden dislike to the guard's manner, for it seemed they had no idea of his character as a snow elf. They were known for duelling those so unlucky to offend them. Yet epiphany grew in Cane's mind, for he could not reach Ellesmera if he were to retaliate. for this reason, he let the guard speak as he saw fit, with a great amount of personal dissatisfaction.
"You!" the guard said, pointing his weapon at Cane, "Who are you and what is your business with our queen?"
Cane considered his response carefully.
"I should like to withold my personal details from you due to a certain, discomfort of sharing such things with these Tree-folk to my understanding. My business with your Queen is for her eyes only."
The guard took some offense at Cane's Manner, and seeing the displeasure, Cane grinned wickedly.
"And by the way, I'm a snow elf from Riverhead in what you call 'the northern region."
The guard frowned.
"Archer Xylus, was the... Snow-Elf... armed?"
"The boy had a shovel and some kind of hunting knife. we observed them killing an elk with it most effectively. they also had this package which cannot be removed from the... thing over their. it has the queen's crest on it so indeed only she can tell of its meaning and contents."
Daedrid huffed angrily at his referral but soon piped down as an archer aimed his weapon at him.
"I don't like it. They could be Assasins. mind since the days of galbatorix, none have made enemies with the queen. Snow elf! you may make your way to Ellesmera with the guards. your weaponry shall be taken from you for security, and your dietary needs shall be catered for on your travels. Keep your beast under control and do not try anything funny. Go now!"
"As you wish. But before i go, if we should meet again and I should hope we should not, the name is Cane!"

Lineless is way too hard. If it wasn't for the fact this was for my girlfriend's birthday I would have given up long ago.
Though it was yesterday, NDA deleted my shading three times so this wasn't finished until today. The background originally was more detailed, but after the third time my shading was deleted I quit caring.
