Long time, no update. I've been busy working on the finishing touches on the next how-to-draw dragons book, due out this August. Once I wrap things up I hope to give some much TLC to the NDA website. There are 5 new pieces of art in the gallery.
Nightmare has put together an art marathon to benefit the Free the Slaves charity this season. If you'd like to participate, here is the information:
Slavery is illegal in every country in the world, but there are still 27 million people enslaved. Slavery today is even worse than it used to be because food shortages have made it easy for traffickers to trick people into slavery by pretending to offer them jobs. This has led to enslaved people being treated as disposable. However, it is easier to end slavery now than ever before. Slaves make up a smaller percentage of the world population than they used to, no industry relies on slavery to continue, and it is generally accepted that slavery is wrong. Now is the time to abolish slavery.
Art Marathon is a 24 hour art-making session to raise awareness about modern slavery and raise money for Free the Slaves, a nonprofit organization that liberates slaves and teaches them jobs skills so that they do not fall back into poverty. The artists will do their marathons at various times between Saturday, December 26 and Friday, January 1. Many of the artists will stream live video of their art as they create it.
Visit art-marathon.org to learn more about modern slavery and Art Marathon or donate to Free the Slaves.

I spent the night streaming the creation of one of the spot illustrations from the upcoming DragonArt: Evolution how-to-draw dragons book. The video I've embedded is 1 of the three streams that I recorded tonight. There is also one that is me refining the sketch and one of me laying in some color. In a future stream I'll shade the zombie dragon. Thanks to everyone who showed up for the stream when it was live!
Kanizo has been added to the links section. Kanizo is home to Dannie's artwork, a wonderful collection of fantasy and wildlife art. I cleaned up Artist Links G-L removing dead links. If you notice your link missing, its probably because your website was down at the time that I was pruning. If it's back up, simply e-mail me and I will restore your link!
I've uploaded 20 additional avatars that anyone can use to the forums. You can apply an avatar in your user control panel in the forums. When you get into the avatar control settings, click "display gallery" Enjoy!
I'm recording livestream videos once again. You can see the latest one here. It features me adding shadows and highlights to a red eastern dragon illustration. If the I stop drawing for half a minute, it's because while I was recording it, the chat on livestream was moving and I was typing a reply to something. :-)
